Jim Lahey changed the game with his no-knead bread recipe, and continues to change the game here at Co. (pronounced "Company"). Choose from one of the many pies they offer - the Margherita, meatball and boscaiola are among the more talked about pies - or stay simple with the pizza bianca, a simple stretch of dough, brushed with oil and sprinkled with coarse sea salt. You'll want to share a salad to start - because it's a healthy lunch, you see - and the artichoke would be a smart choice. Arugula, capers, shaved parmesan, and of course, artichokes, dressed with lemon oil... it goes perfectly with your pies, making the meal feel almost light.

When you think old school pizza joint, you're probably thinking of Di Fara, where the owner personally hand cuts basil to top every pie that exits the oven (pictured). The pizza here is no joke: a crust to die for, perfectly seasoned tomato sauce and just the right amount of cheese, you really can't go wrong with Di Fara for lunch. Waits can be tedious at times, but well worth the effort as it will be rewarded handsomely... with some of the best pizza you've ever had.

Thin crust, piping hot tomato sauce, and a lot of cheese. Some may describe this as the quintessential New York style pizza: they'd be right. While there's always contention over who makes the best pizza in New York, it's simple enough to try John's and understand the care and quality they display in each pie. Crisp crust, with just enough tomato sauce and cheese to not weigh it down, but make each bite a mouthful of heaven. The lines move fast, so don't be discouraged if you see a rather long one.
