Gotham Gossipist: Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon In No Rush To Show Off Newborn Twins

By Kimberly Rae Miller

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's been almost two months since Mariah Carey gave birth to her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, and still no one's seen the Carey-Cannon cuties.  What's up with that?

Apparently Mom and Dad are on the hunt for the most tasteful opportunity to showcase their offspring.  On his 92.3 Now Radio show, Nick Cannon expressed how totally strange it is to be selling photos of his kids.  The pictures are expected to bring in about $200,000.  Certainly more than most people make in a year, but millions less than the $14 million that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie brought in for their twins.

A source close to Cannon and Carey told Page Six that it's not about the money for the couple.

"Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder,"  the source said, while adding that Mariah and Nick have received bids from a number of magazines, including People and OK!

So, why sell them at all if you're uncomfortable with it?  The money. The truth behind all those celebrity baby photo shoots may have more to do with stopping the paparazzi than cashing in for famous couples.  Paparazzi make major bucks for getting the first shots of famous babies. Better that money go toward the college fund, than some creep with an ultra-zoom lens.

All I'm saying is that I've never heard of a 'not tasteful' baby picture.  Bring on the cuteness.
