Ex-NARAL Pro-Choice New York Chief Kelli Conlin Admits Phony Expenses

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A former president of a prominent New York abortion-rights group has admitted getting the organization to pay thousands of dollars for a summer house rental and other personal plums by passing them off as business expenses.

Former NARAL Pro-Choice New York leader Kelli Conlin pleaded guilty Wednesday to falsifying business records. The case will be closed without jail time or probation if she pays $75,000 in restitution.

The organization said it is pleased with the outcome, and it has reviewed its accounting practices.

Prosecutors said Conlin was fired from the statewide organization in January.

Her lawyer said she is glad to have resolved the matter.
