Search Continues For Missing College Student Lauren Spierer

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (CBSNewYork) – The parents of missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer are still holding out hope for their daughter's return.

In Bloomington, Indiana, a massive search is underway Saturday to find the 20-year-old from Westchester who has been missing for more than three weeks. Spierer's father Robert says the search is called "Find Lauren Day" and will cover a large area outside the city.

"As loving parents of a child, we're doing that which I think anyone would do," he said.

Spierer's mother Charlene is still asking anyone with information to come forward. She said if there was a terrible accident, they could deal with that but they can't deal with not knowing.

"Lauren, I miss everything about you," she said. "There's not one thing any given day that I'm not missing about you. We're really ready to go home. We just need Lauren. We need our daughter."

Lauren was last seen walking home to her apartment around 4:30 a.m. on June 3 after a night out with friends. Police say 1,500 tips have come in to the Bloomington Police Department since she went missing.
