Police Release Sketch Of Suspect Wanted In String Of Bronx Sex Attacks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance concerning the identity and whereabouts of a man wanted in connection with a string of sexual assaults in the Bronx.

All three attacks happened on the Baychester Avenue footbridge, which is located at Baychester Avenue and 222nd Street and crosses over the New England Thruway. The victims were also the same age.

The most recent attack occurred on June 23, when a man sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman at approximately 4:10 p.m. on the footbridge. On June 4, a man attempted to sexually assault another 19-year-old woman at the same location, police said.

Police believe a third attack on the footbridge, on Sept. 18, 2010, is related. In that incident, a man sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman on the footbridge.

Police released a sketch of the suspect in the hopes that the public could help identify him.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
