Body Of Missing Swimmer Found On Beach

OCEAN BEACH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities say the body of a swimmer who was reported missing off Fire Island has been recovered on a beach.

Coast Guard spokesman Thomas McKenzie says a Good Samaritan found the body on Tuesday at Davis Park, just east of the search area.

Authorities had received a call overnight from a friend of the victim.

Suffolk County police determined that the body was that of the missing 26-year-old man.
