Time Out New York Kids: Sing, Dance And Wiggle

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Time Out New York Kids has some great ideas for your family this weekend:

Midsummer Night Swing Kids' Dance

Description: If anyone can turn your dance-floor terror into Fred or Ginger, it's Dancing Classrooms' Rodney Lopez, whose work with NYC schoolkids was profiled in the 2005 documentary Mad Hot Ballroom.

He'll teach youngsters the ABC's of ballroom, swing and tango. The event is open to kids ages 4 to 10.

When: Saturday, July 16 from 3pm to 4:30pm.

The Wiggles Big Birthday

Description: Join the fab four from Down Under as they celebrate their 20th year together. Preschoolers will wiggle with excitement at the chance to do the "Hot Potato" with Anthony, Sam, Murray and Jeff. Ages 2 to 5.

Celebrate Brooklyn!  Family Concert

Description: As part of Celebrate Brooklyn, kids can hear Dan Zanes' eclectic, family-friendly tunes, which contain influences ranging from West Indian folk music to the electric guitar.

The musicians of the Brooklyn Youth Orchestra, the Shumba Marimba Youth Ensemble and dance collective, the Bed-Stuy Veterans will accompany Zanes. All ages.
