Woman May Be 7th Victim Of Serial Upper East Side Groper

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man accused of groping several women may have struck again Saturday, Dave Carlin reports.

The NYPD posted sketches of the man who cannot keep his hands to himself. The suspect sexually attacked several women. Each crime is quick, but the fear is long lasting.

A 29-year-old woman was groped at 5:45 this morning, and police said she may have been his seventh victim.

"Now I'm on my guard," said Lisa Marie of the Upper East Side.

"It's really scary," said resident Mary DiStasio.

The suspect struck at least six times since January 5. Each time at night or the early morning on a street in the East 80s, and the victims ranged in age from 25 to 31.

"We think it's part of a pattern," said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

The suspect follows women as they pause to open the front doors of their buildings, grabs them then runs.

Life long Upper East Side Resident Caitlin McGurk vowed to spread the word to try and stop him.

""Do you have more of these? I want to put it in my building," she asked Carlin.

"He gropes me he's going to have problems," she said. Asked what she would do, she answered: "Call neighborhood people."
