BRIDGEPORT, CT (WCBS 880) – Coolness over nearly 400 acres of Seaside Park will be strictly a state of mind and attitude at a music festival in Bridgeport.

The Gathering of the Vibes kicks off at 2:00 p.m.

“You know you focus on it being hazy, hot, and humid and 100 degrees and pouring rain and if you don’t get that then everything’s looking shiny.” says founder Ken Hays.

Hays says this will likely be the warmest in the 16 years of the festival.

“…and this is how I’m going to be staying cool… This is a little aromatherapy mister,” says Janet Edwards, who is selling some of her Mountain Mama of Maine body spray – on ice. “It could be raining for four days and you would have other issues.”

They have brought in extra water and ice and hope lives that a slight breeze off the Long Island Sound sticks around through Sunday.

The festival will feature Taj Mahal, Levon Helm, Elvis Costello, Jane’s Addiction, and many others.
