3 Hospital Employees Fired For Photo Of Gunshot Wounds On Dead Teen

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A New Haven hospital has fired three workers and disciplined four others after a clinician took a photo of the gunshot wounds of a dead teen and shared it.

The Hospital of Saint Raphael spokeswoman Liese Klein said the photo of 17-year-old Travis Washington was taken with a camera phone after he died June 25 at the hospital of gunshots to the chest.

Klein said the photo was sent it to a ``small number'' of others, but doesn't appear to have been posted on the Internet.

Klein told The New Haven Register on Friday that hospital officials disciplined the workers within 10 days of the incident. She said officials met with the family to apologize.

The paper couldn't reach an attorney for Washington's family Friday.

No one has been charged in Washington's death.
