NY Judge: Brooklyn Bike Lane In Prospect Park West Stays
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The bike lanes in Brooklyn are staying put.
A judge has thrown out a lawsuit that called for the removal of the Prospect Park West bike lanes, saying the statute of limitations had expired for a legal challenge to the lane.

A group of residents claimed the city falsified information and conspired with radical bike lobbyists to suppress criticism.
The city says the Prospect Park West bike lane is part of a "street calming'' project.
It says cars often sped in the area and bicyclists rode on the sidewalk. The city says the bike path was installed in response to community requests and concerns.

But opponents say the lane hinders drivers and can be dangerous for pedestrians.
The judge's ruling is troubling to some residents like Tony Petre.
"The lanes take up space," said Petre. "There's a lot more cars than bikes."
Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan called it a "frivolous lawsuit.''
The opponents say they're reviewing their options.
