New York Aquarium Wants Help Naming New Electric Eel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There's a new addition at the New York Aquarium and he (or she) needs a name.
A young electric eel, gender unknown, is looking for a little identity and the aquarium wants you to help name it.
The eel is native to South America and can deliver a 650-volt electric shock. The aquarium says the electric eel uses the shock to defend itself against predators and to catch prey.
You can see the eel in its home in the Explore the Shore exhibit at the New York Aquarium.
The eel naming contest ends Monday. To submit your eel names, visit www.nyaquarium.com.
