Halfon was found unconscious on the sidewalk in the Midwood section of the borough with a severe head injury around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Halfon was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

A witness told Schuck that a block away on Avenue O, three suspects dumped a blue Volvo, ditched their bloody clothes and fled.

Residents in the area are shocked.

"I've lived here since I was 12-years-old, I've never seen anything like this ever," one man said.

The investigation is ongoing.
