NJ Turnpike Authority Changing Toll System On Garden State Parkway

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Toll cheats on the Garden State Parkway no longer can just grab an envelope.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has decided to end the system that allowed motorists who didn't have enough change to take envelopes and mail the payment.

The envelope system will end on Oct. 17 and cameras will be activated at parkway toll plazas.

Turnpike Authority spokesman Thomas Feeney told The Record newspaper toll violators will be photographed and sent a notice to pay the toll as well as a $50 administrative fee.
