Republican McMahon lost her U.S. Senate race to Richard Blumenthal in 2010, but she is expexted to try again, this time to fill the soon to be vacated seat of Sen. Joe Lieberman.

Now, a report says she'll announce this latest run this coming Tuesday.

Republican Former Rep. Chris Shays is expected to join her in the race early this October.

To voters in Darien, it's a chance to hear some new ideas on solving problems in a divisive climate.

"There are too many talking heads and not enough people who are serious enough about making hard decisions. Washington is full of politicians but no statesman," one man told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.

"To me, it's the same old rhetoric over and over again. They get into Washington and they can't do anything about it. It's a mess. I wish I had an answer for you. I don't," another man said.

"I guess we wait for something new," replied Murnane.

"I'm not sure what something new is yet, but I'm ready for it," the man said.

"I'm looking for someone who can step away from the typical partisan theories and, you know, actually go and get something done," said still another.

"The issues are easy," said yet another. "More jobs and a better economy. It's how we get there and there's no right answer. It's just figuring out what's best for everyone."

Rep. Chris Murphy and former secretary of the state Susan Bysiewicz are expected in the field of Democrats seeking the seat.

Who do you think would make a good replacement for Sen. Joe Lieberman? Sound off below.
