Brad Pitt Says He Was Misinterpreted On Jennifer Aniston Comments

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Brad Pitt is back-tracking from some controversial comments about his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.

Aniston, who recently purchased a new home in the West Village, was married to Pitt from 2000 to 2005. Pitt then went on to infamously hook up with Angelina Jolie after meeting her on a movie set.

In a new interview with Parade magazine, Pitt said he's happily in love with Jolie – something he can't say for his relationship with Aniston.

"I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out," he said. "It started to feel pathetic."

Pitt now says he was misinterpreted.

"Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull. But that I was becoming dull to myself – and that, I am responsible for."
