2 Arrested In Stabbing At Middle Island King Kullen Parking Lot

MIDDLE ISLAND, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the neck during a dispute in a King Kullen parking lot in Middle Island, Suffolk County Police said.

Joseph Rovinsky, 24, of Port Monmouth, N.J., and Shante Tyler, 21, of Eatontown, N.J., were sitting in a car with a man and a woman Monday morning around 10:15 a.m. when an argument broke out.

Police said Rovinsky and Tyler stabbed the man in the neck and punched the woman in the head before fleeing on foot.

Canine Police Officer Mark Sacco and his dog, Max, found the suspects hiding in a wooded area nearby.

Police said the victims were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center where the man was treated for serious injuries. The woman, who suffered minor injuries, was treated and released.

Rovinsky and Tyler have been charged with assault.
