Samayah Bailey, Toddler Shot In Head On S.I., Released From Hospital

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Staten Island toddler who was shot in the head is out of the hospital, but not at home.

Doctors removed 18-month-old Samayah Bailey's left eye after she was shot in the head while sitting in her stroller last week in the playground of the Arlington Terrace Apartments. Police say she was caught in the crossfire after a 19-year-old opened fire. Police arrested Damark King in connection with the shooting.

Her family says it's not safe for her to go home, so she's staying with a relative.

Her parents say the city has not fulfilled its promise to relocate them.  The District Attorney's office says they're working on it.

Doctors said Samayah also had blood clots in her brain which were removed during surgery.
