New York Aquarium Residents Get Special Halloween Treats

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The animals at the New York Aquarium are getting in to the Halloween spirit with some tasty treats.

Tazo the sea otter, who made his public debut back in June, was one of many aquarium residents to receive a pumpkin to snack on ahead of the Wildlife Conservation Society's "Ascarium" festivities.

For three weekends in October, the aquarium will host a variety of Halloween-themed activities including magic shows, story telling and a "haunted Sea-fari" adventure.

But Tazo wasn't the only one to get a tasty pumpkin treat. Squirt, the aquarium's giant Pacific octopus, got a pumpkin filled with fish.

In addition, the aquarium will be celebrating sea otter awareness week in honor of Tazo from Sept. 26 to Oct. 1 with special presentations throughout the week.
