L.I. Man Remains In Hospital After Being Shot In Legs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A Huntington Station man remains in the hospital after being shot in both legs on Saturday night, police said.

Rahmel Caleb, 31, was walking with a friend on Lowndes Avenue at 9 p.m. when a gold four-door sedan stopped beside them. "Three black men exited the car and two of them began shooting at Caleb and his friend," according to the police report.

The suspects fled the scene in the sedan going west on Tower Street.

Huntington Rescue transported Caleb to Huntington Hospital where he was treated for his non-life-threatening wounds.

The Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are still investigating and ask that anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls remain confidential.
