Police: Scooter Driver Killed When Hit By Car In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a man on a scooter was killed in Brooklyn when he was hit by a car at a stop sign.

It happened around 7 p.m. Monday at Meserole Avenue and Leonard Street. Police say a 41-year-old man on a scooter was stopped at a stop sign when a Buick hit him from behind.

The driver of the scooter was taken to the hospital where he later died. Police say the driver of the Buick was taken into custody.

Police are still investigating.
