ELMONT, NY (CBSNewYork) — A Nassau County legislator calls a YouTube video of one of his campaign workers making racist remarks “an embarrassment” and says such actions will not be tolerated.

Republican lawmaker John Ciotti is doing damage control after seeing the video and says the worker is no longer with his campaign.

The YouTube video apparently shows campaign worker Vinnie Prisco putting up pro-Ciotti signs outside the Elmont campaign office of Ciotti’s Democratic opponent, Carrie Solages.

When a woman, who reportedly turns out to be Solages’ sister, asks Prisco to stop, he becomes rude and makes at least two racist remarks while he and another man camp out in front of Solage’s office.

In the video, he can be seen making an obscene gesture to the camera and heard saying remarks like “Call animal control so we can arrest ’em” and  “Don’t worry, we will put them on the back of the bus where they belong.”

Watch the YouTube video below:

Prisco’s mother told reporters that her son and Ciotti are friends, but Ciotti told 1010 WINS that Prisco was just a campaign volunteer and has now been fired.

“This individual or anyone who thinks like him will never stuff another envelope or lick another stamp on my behalf,” Ciotti said. “This individual’s gone from my campaign immediately after I saw the video.”

Ciotti said Prisco’s actions were an embarrassment to him and his constituents and said he “represents all the people, all the time.”
