Hudson Valley Humane Society President Killed While Fixing Roof In Ramapo

RAMAPO, NY (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Raymond Mundy, the longtime president of the Hudson Valley Humane Society, died when the roof of a shed collapsed on him.

Mundy was killed Tuesday. His wife, Judy, found him pinned under the collapsed building in Ramapo when she came home from work.

The 68-year-old has been the president of the Humane Society for more than 20 years.

The group's executive vice president, Ann Marie Gaudio, said the society lost someone who had great empathy for animals and people.
 
He also taught philosophy and business ethics as an adjunct professor at Rockland Community College.
