Money Stolen From Charity Donation Jar In Massapequa

MASSAPEQUA, NY (WCBS 880) - Police say a heartless crime has been committed in Nassau County.

Authorities say a man and a woman stole the money from a charity donation jar at a 7-Eleven at 5570 Merrick Road in Massapequa.

"The subjects removed a muscular dystrophy charity donation container worth approximately $200 U.S. currency from the countertop, pouring the contents into a female subject's pocketbook and exited the store," said Nassau County police officer Jean DeLuca.

She says the subjects are still on the loose.

Patch.com reports the man described as being 5-feet 9-inches tall and wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt, blue baseball cap and a white sweater. The woman is described as 5-feet 4, wearing leggings, a dark shirt and a white sweater.
