Police: East Harlem Woman Found Dead In Apartment

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 73-year-old woman was found dead Tuesday night in her East Harlem apartment. Police said she may have been murdered.

Officers made the discovery at the Wagner Houses at 445 East 120th Street after responding to a 911 call of a robbery in progress. Police said the victim's daughter, Elaine Hernandez, told them she found her mother, Julia Hernandez, inside the apartment unconscious and unresponsive.

"My mother, they killed her and whoever killed her, you're going to get it.  And we're going to find you," Elaine Hernandez said.

Police have also confirmed to 1010 WINS that when she was found, Hernandez's feet were bound by a scarf and plastic wrap was over her head. A flat screen television was also missing from the home, police confirmed.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival by EMS, who responded to the scene. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
