Cops Seek Attempted Rape Suspect In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance in identifying an individual wanted for an attempted rape that took place on Friday at around 2 a.m. near 21st Street in Queens.

Police said the suspect approached two 28-year-old female victims as they were entering their apartment, pushed them into the vestibule and attempted to rape them. Police said the suspect told the victims "be quiet I have a gun."

When a resident on the 2nd floor came to the vestibule the suspect fled the location on foot. The victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital where they were treated for lacerations to the face and arms.

The suspect is described as a black male between ages 20 and 25, approximately 6-foot and 185 pounds with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black long sleeved V-neck sweater and blue jeans.
