Prosecutor Jennifer Siegel said Jesus Alejandro stabbed 25-year-old Christina Hernandez — the mother of his son —  26 times, slit her throat, and left her head next to the open oven door with the gas turned on.

It was a scene so awful, said the prosecutor, that the seasoned homicide detective who had to describe it to a jury was fighting back tears.

Alejandro was 18-years-old at the time of the murder. He claimed he didn’t remember doing it.
