Plaza Hotel's Astor Suite Is NYC's Most Expensive Rental Apartment Ever
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If you happen to have $165,000 lying around, you can rent the Grand Astor Suite at the Plaza Hotel - for one month.
The renovated fifth-floor apartment, which spans approximately 5,087 square feet, sits on the most coveted corner of the building, where it faces both Central Park and Fifth Avenue.

"The same artisans that rebuilt Windsor Castle's interior after it burned down several years ago were hired to build this library," real estate agent Melanie Lazenby told Papa.

John F. Kennedy, Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor are just some of the names who have stayed in the 4-bedroom, 6-bathroom apartment, which is furnished with fine linens and antiques.
John Jacob Astor VI once stayed in the now-private residence. After World War II, the rooms became the Presidential Suite, available on a nightly basis.
The now-private residence is currently owned by someone in the fashion industry, who won't be living in it for awhile.
