Parks Department Recruiting Horse Riders To Patrol Various Parks
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Giddyup, urban cowboys.
The mounted auxiliary unit of the Parks Department is recruiting experienced horse riders to join its Central Park patrol.
Duties include crowd control during parades and other gatherings. The riders will also help shut down illegal barbecues, find lost children and report any crime to police.
Other "beats" that are looking for some horseback patrols include parks in Staten Island and Van Cortlandt park.
