Rangers Place Sean Avery On Waivers... Again
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Sean Avery's latest stint with the Rangers appears to be over.
The Rangers have placed Avery on waivers just days ahead of Monday's much-anticipated Winter Classic showdown against Philadelphia, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
The agitator already cleared waivers once this year. Avery spent most of October with the AHL's Connecticut Whale.
Avery, who has been a healthy scratch for nine straight games, has three goals and zero assists in 15 games this season.
The 31-year-old would likely head back to the Whale if unclaimed.
