Gotham Gossipist: Anna Wintour Launches 'Runway To Win' Campaign For Obama

By Kimberly Rae Miller

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- With stars like Matt Damon actively voicing their disillusionment with President Obama (the actor recently told Elle magazine that "a one-term president with some balls" would've been a better commander-in-chief), one might think that the president was in trouble when it comes to celebrity endorsements.

Not exactly.

Fashion institution and magazine mogul Anna Wintour, an active Obama supporter since the beginning of his rise, is launching a fundraising campaign for his 2012 reelection bid. And she's doing it with style.

Manhattan resident and Vogue editor-and-chief, Wintour's new campaign is aptly titled "Runway to Win."

She will work with many of the fashion industry's most elite designers to produce clothing and accessories that will benefit Obama's reelection campaign.

Some of the designers headlining the "Runway to Win" campaign include:  Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra, Rachel Roy, Jason Wu, Rag & Bone and Diane von Furstenberg.

The Obama-inspired fashion will be available for purchase on RunwayToWin.com, proceeds will go toward the Obama/Biden reelection campaign.

Wintour has yet to comment on Rick Santorum's sweater vests.
