Gunman Follows Women Home In Shocking Mid-Day Robbery On Long Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island are hunting for a gunman who followed three women to their Westbury home in the middle of the day and then robbed them.

CBS 2's Pablo Guzman spoke with one of the victims, a 90-year-old woman who said she got the scare of her life.

She said that the man busted into the home with his face covered and then attacked, pushing her into the bedroom, where she feared the worst.

The man showed the woman that he had a gun and then he grabbed a jewelry box before making his escape.

It is believed that the man gained entry by following the woman's 87-year-old friend in through a side door to the house.

Her daughter lives in the house next door.

"My mother is almost 90, one of the other ladies was 87, and my aunt is 82! You know, he walks in, and he even had a gun on him, that's the most frightening thing," she said.

The victim said that the robbery happened so quickly that she didn't even have a chance to take action.

"My daughter, she live next door. I no have any chance to call," she said.

Although nobody was injured in the attack, the woman said that she has had some trouble sleeping.
