Police Find Body In Brooklyn Trash Fire
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say the body of a man was found by officers while responding to a trash fire in Brooklyn.
Police discovered the body just before 4 a.m. Thursday on Hendrickson Street behind a furniture store after getting a call about a garbage fire. When firefighters put out the flames, police say the body was found inside the garbage.
A medical examiner will determine the man's cause of death.
Marine Park resident Keron Liverpool tells 1010 WINS the area where the body was found is a hangout for homeless people.
"It's unfortunate regardless of whatever person it was, homeless or anything else, it's still somebody's relative," Domenic Ali said.
Police are still investigating.
