Giants' Antrel Rolle: 49ers, Be Careful What You Wish For

NEW YORK (WFAN) — Giants can't be beat?

Big Blue won't be denied?

It's the sort of thing usually reserved for Rex Ryan and the big-talking Jets. But it seems a little Ryan has rubbed off on Giants safety Antrel Rolle.

And he's not about to back down.

One day after dismantling the champion Green Bay Packers, Rolle proclaimed the only way the Giants can fail against the San Francisco 49ers is if they beat themselves.

"We are not going to be denied," Rolle told reporters Monday as his team prepares for Sunday's NFC Championship game. "We are not going to be denied at this point. We understand what we have as a team. It's not all talent, it's about chemistry and we are jelling at this point. Coaches and players being one the same page at the same time. We have one mind, to win a championship."

He added: "Our mindset is extreme at this point. We are not going to be denied, that is our mindset. I may be a little biased, but in our minds we know we can't be beat. That's the approach we are taking week in, week out."

During his weekly spot Tuesday afternoon on WFAN, Rolle continued where he left off.

"I wouldn't take the field if I felt otherwise," Rolle told Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts. "I think we're believing as a team. And I think we understand where we are, we understand where we're trying to get to and we understand what it's going to take for us to get there.

"We're doing everything in our power. And like I said, we won't be denied at this point."

Rolle also had a message for 49ers tight end Vernon Davis, who said he "prayed" for the Giants to beat Green Bay.

"If he said that, I can only hope he's saying it just because they want to get a home game," Rolle told Benigno & Roberts. "They better be careful what they ask for because their wish is being granted and we'll see them come Sunday."

The safety said he doesn't root for one team over another when it comes to who the Giants will play next. It's just not in his blood.

"I don't give a damn who we'll be playing," Rolle said. "I don't care who we play, I'll take any opponent any given day. That's my attitude. If someone has a problem with it, oh well, that's how I am, that's how I was raised. I don't shy away from any opponent. My heart doesn't pump any Kool Aid, only blood. I'm ready to play whenever, however, whenever, however. I'm ready for it."
