2 Men Killed In Separate Subway Accidents

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) --  Two men were killed in the city's subway system on Saturday, one in Manhattan and one in Queens, The Daily News reported.

A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by an L train near Union Square, according to police he had been walking inside of a subway tunnel.

The victim is believed to be from Long Island. It was not immediately clear why he was walking inside of the tunnel.

In East Elmhurst, Queens a man was found at the bottom of a staircase at the Elmhurst Ave. R Line station.

The man, in his 60's, was bleeding from the mouth, he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he died at about 3a.m.

Police believe that the victim fell down the stairs and hit his head, foul play is not suspected.
