INDIANAPOLIS (CBS) – Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora missed his session with the media on Wednesday, and as a result, his wallet is going to be a little lighter.

Umenyiora was fined $20,000 for missing the appearance, according to CBS Sports’ Josh Katzowitz.

The reported fine adds another entry to the unique season Umenyiora has had. It began with a holdout during the summer in an effort to earn more than his current contract or get traded. That didn’t work, and he eventually showed up to play. Injuries, however, limited him to just nine regular-season games.

He produced, though, registering nine sacks on the season. In three postseason games thus far, he has registered 3.5 sacks, eight tackles and a forced fumble.
