New York Giants Have Their Eyes Set On Super Bowl Rings
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Giants are playing for a little more than the Vince Lombardi Trophy on Sunday.
The players are hoping the night ends with some bling.
"There is no such thing as too many diamonds on a Super Bowl ring," said wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
Only 45 versions exist of the coveted Super Bowl ring but each year they get bigger and loaded up with diamonds.
Former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan once said, "A Super Bowl ring should be a ten tabler, a ring you can see from ten tables away!"
Fifteen current players on the team already own a Super Bowl ring.
"My other hand is getting jealous," joked running back Ahmad Bradshaw.
"It's huge, I think about it all the time," wide receiver Victor Cruz said. "I want one on my own finger and hopefully I can get one on Sunday."
"I don't even wear rings, but I'll wear that one, I definitely will, without a question," safety Kenny Phillips said.
From Super Bowl I to Super Bowl XLV, for a player this is the ultimate prize -- diamonds or no diamonds, "Super Bowl Champion" has a nice ring to it.
