NYC Testing Taxi Shopping Technology During Fashion Week
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- How does a "mobile taxi shop" sound to you?
To coincide with the start of Fashion Week, 50 New York City taxi cabs will be part of a pilot program that will let passengers buy luxury beauty products by swiping their smart phones over special tags.

Riders will get a free fare for participating in the five-day experiment which launches Thursday.
Only taxis in neighborhoods connected to Fashion Week, such as Lincoln Center and the Meatpacking District, will have the technology.
The idea was proposed by Glamour magazine.
