Long Island Woman Upset Over Robbery Of 9/11 Husband's Grave

Several others were also stolen, for the scrap metal.

That section of the cemetery is designated for 9/11 victims.

"They knew what they were doing. That's the 9/11 section. What they did it for probably was pennies of what it was worth," she said.

Mistrulli sat near a large photo of her late husband Joseph, who was killed on 9/11, as she told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall what it has been like for her.

"To go through this, it was like opening old wounds again when I opened that letter," she said.

That's bad enough, but she is also upset over what the cemetery is planning on doing - replacing the vases with bronze-like vases.

"They are doing it to be cheap. That is exacting what they are doing," she said.

The cemetery did not return Hall's call for comment.
