Food Truck Festivals And Culinary Events Mark Beginning Of Spring Season In NYC

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- You know spring is on its way when new food events are announced across the city on a near-daily basis.

Two big food truck events are set to take place in the upcoming weeks. The first, Choice Streets, will occur on Tuesday, April 24t on the Intrepid.

Kicking off at 7 p.m., a $30 ticket will get you samples from over 20 New York food truck favorites including Korilla BBQ, Souvlaki GR, Mexicue, Taim Mobile, Red Hook Lobster, Wafels & Dinges and more.  Drinks and entertainment are included, as well.

Additionally, the creators of music festivals Bonnaroo and the Outside Lands are planning a free outdoor food/music extravaganza in Prospect Park on May 19 and 20 called The Great GoogaMooga.

Spanning across Prospect Park's Nethermead area, GoogaMooga will host approximately 75 food vendors including the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, Luke's Lobster and tons of top-notch restaurants.

General admission tickets are free, which gets you inside for all the music and entertainment on two stages, but food and drink are pay-as-you-go.

There will also be 10 music performances per day. No acts have been announced yet.

There will be other food and drink themed activities including beer and wine tasting pavilions.

A limited number of tickets will be available online via Early Registration. You will be able to register for either Saturday or Sunday (but not both) starting at noon on March 15th.
