NYPD Investigating 2, Unrelated Deaths Of Brooklyn And Bronx Infants

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities are investigating the deaths of two infants who were both found unresponsive Saturday morning in unrelated incidents.

The first happened in Brooklyn around 4:30 a.m. EMS were called to a home on Shepherd Avenue where they found a 23-month-old boy  unconscious and unresponsive.

The boy, identified as Jacqil Degraffenreid, was taken to Kings County Hospital where he later died.

Then just after 11 a.m., police were called to a home on Harrison Avenue in the Bronx where they found an unconscious, 2-month-old girl.

EMS took the baby, who has been identified as Angelise Correa, to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where she died.

In both cases, the medical examiner will determine a cause of death.

So far, there have been no arrests in either case and both are still under investigation.
