NFL To Reportedly Dock Cap Space From Redskins, Cowboys

NEW YORK (WFAN) - If winning the Super Bowl wasn't enough of a prize for Giants fans last month, Big Blue faithful got another dose of good news on Monday -- offseason style.

The NFL plans to dock salary cap space from the NFC East-rival Cowboys and Redskins, according to USA Today.

The league will dock $36 million from the 'Skins and $10 million from the Cowboys, says the paper.

With NFL free agency on the horizon, the news of shrunken budgets comes as a big blow to the respective franchises. Just days after sending four draft picks to the Rams for the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Redskins had planned to add depth to their roster this summer.

Both the Redskins and Cowboys missed the playoffs in 2011.

Is the gap widening between the G-Men and the rest in the NFC East? Let us know...
