Collins Shows Frustration, Vents After Mets' Tejada Exits With Injury

NEW YORK (WFAN) - It has been a frustrating Spring Training for Terry Collins and the Mets so far, and on Tuesday the manager let his emotions get the best of him.

Whether he attempted to send a message to his team or simply lost control is up for interpretation, but what's indisputable is that the second-year manager is not a happy camper at the moment.

After Ruben Tejada was scratched from the club's game on Wednesday with a left groin strain, Collins spoke to reporters and uttered a sentiment of disgust with how things have unraveled in Port St. Lucie of late.

"It's not serious, it doesn't have to be here," Collins told reporters in regard to Tejada. "You need an aspirin, you're off for a day. I'm just getting tired of going in the training room, where I've got to sweat to see who can walk out of there."

The Mets have been the victims of a devastating injury bug this spring. As it stands, David Wright has yet to play in a Grapefruit League game, Ike Davis has been diagnosed with Valley Fever, Scott Hairston could start the season on the disabled list and Tim Byrdak awaits surgery. Lucas Duda and Pedro Beato are also not playing at 100 percent.

Do you like Collins getting fired up, or are you bothered that he didn't keep his composure? Let us know below...
