Gang Green Reportedly Interested In Re-Signing Ex-Jet Jerricho Cotchery

NEW YORK (WFAN) - The Jets are interested in bringing wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery back to East Rutherford, according to the New York Daily News.

Cotchery, who requested a release from the Jets in August of 2011, was one of Gang Green's most productive and respected players from 2004-2010.

After his departure from the Jets, the 29-year-old joined the rival Steelers this past season, catching 16 balls -- two of which were touchdowns -- for 237 yards.

Cotchery, widely regarded as a leader during his tenure with the Jets, was drafted by New York in the fourth round out of North Carolina State in 2004 and worked his way into the Jets' starting lineup after a few seasons. Sure-handed and consistent, he recorded 353 catches for 4,474 yards and 18 touchdowns with New York.

The paper also reports that the Chiefs, too, are interested in signing Cotchery.
