'One Lonely Guy' Gets Thousands Of Calls, Book Deal After Posting Fliers Around Manhattan
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jeff Ragsdale is lonely no more.
The 40-year old, who papered Manhattan with his phone number in search of love last October after a devastating break-up, still doesn't have a steady girlfriend, but he has received 65,000 phone calls and text messages from strangers.
Ragsdale said it's tough to meet someone in this mile-a-minute metropolis.

"They're in a rush, they're working a lot, they have day jobs, they're pursuing artistic careers at night," Ragsdale said. "I just wanted to try something different."
When he first posted the flyer, Ragsdale thought he'd be lucky to get even 10 responses.
But soon his number went viral and he began receiving thousands of replies from people all over the country and from as far away as Spain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Taiwan, and Australia.
"I was that person they could talk to completely objectively," Ragsdale tells 1010 WINS. "It was the anonymity they called me for. They'd tell me things they couldn't tell their parents or friends."
Among those who responded to his flier was a pimp, who offered him some female company by the hour, and a woman who moved out of New York City to the country and now hates the smell of cow manure.
While Ragsdale hasn't found love but he does have a book deal.
He will be releasing a memoir on Tuesday titled "Jeff, One Lonely Guy," documenting some of the messages he has received.
