Coast Guard Recovers Body Of Apparent George Washington Bridge Jumper

FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) -- The Coast Guard has recovered the body of a man who apparently jumped from the George Washington Bridge.

The body was found late Sunday morning by a boat crew in the Hudson River, just south of the bridge. The discovery came about 20 minutes after witnesses initially reported seeing someone jump from the span.

Officials say the man appeared to be in his 60s, but did not disclose further details about him.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the bridge, says the matter remains under investigation.
