Rangers' Tortorella Fined $20,000 For Pittsburgh Postgame Rant

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Rangers head coach John Tortorella was fined $20,000 from the NHL on Friday for his postgame comments after New York's loss to the Penguins on Thursday.

The fourth-year coach was furious after center Derek Stepan was injured following a hit from Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik. Following the game he called the Penguins the most arrogant team in the league, and accused both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin of being whiners.

Earlier in the season, Tortorella was fined $30,000 for criticizing the officiating at the Winter Classic in Philadelphia.

The Rangers are 51-23 on the season and have clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Did you love Tortorella's comments, or do you think he should have kept his mouth shut ahead of the playoffs? Sound off with your comments below...
