Agent: Jets Have Interest In Ex-Dolphins Safety Yeremiah Bell

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- One Miami castoff could soon be answering the phone for an AFC East rival.

The Jets and Patriots have both expressed an interest in free agent safety Yeremiah Bell, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

The Dolphins released Bell, their starter at the position since 2006, last month. They haven't publicly ruled out re-signing him, though Rosenhaus told WSVN-TV on Sunday night that the veteran wouldn't be returning to his former team.

Rosenhaus said the Philadelphia Eagles are also interested, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

The 34-year-old has topped 100 tackles for Miami four seasons in a row. He recorded a team-high 107 tackles (81 solo) in 2011 to go with two sacks and an interception.

Miami recently signed safety Tyrell Johnson as a possible replacement for Bell. New York added safety LaRon Landry last month on a one-year deal.

Should the Jets give him a shot? Sound off in the comments below...
