Rumor Has It That It Could Soon Be Tebow Time In Hoboken

HOBOKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- It's been the talk of the town and the gossip at the gym.

Is Tim Tebow really moving to Hoboken? It's possible.

A man named "Charlie," known as the mayor of Hoboken because he is the local dog walker, said the New York Jets backup QB was in town last week checking out an apartment.

The residence Tebow apparently scooped out was on the 11th floor of The Sovereign, a waterfront luxury apartment complex on 14th Street.

"I know we have Eli [Manning] a couple blocks away and then [comedian and radio personality] Artie Lange. So it'd be pretty interesting to see if he's living there," one resident told 1010 WINS' Eileen Lehpamer.

However, now the rumor is Tebow is taking up residence at the Constitution building in north Hoboken. Though, "Charlie" is not buying it.

"Well, I haven't seen him around, I've been here all day," he said. "These are rentals, why is he going to take a rental?"

Building residents, though, are scrambling to find out if they'll soon have a famous new neighbor.

If Tebow does settle on Hoboken, he won't be the only famous face in town.

The aforementioned Eli Manning lives just a few blocks away at the Hudson Tea building and some other Giants live across the street at The Sovereign luxury high rise.

Building management at the Constitution wouldn't confirm or deny the rumor.

Stay tuned.
