Gotham Gossipist: Alec Baldwin's Alleged Stalker On Being Stalked Herself

Kimberly Rae Miller

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Stalking is risky business.  If you  get caught being creepy you risk being the victim of stalking yourself.

Apparently, this is precisely what has happened to Genevieve Sabourin, the 40-year-old Canadian actress who was arrested  two weeks ago for following around Alec Baldwin and demanding he marry her.  For the record, Genevieve really believes that she and the newly engaged  '30 Rock' star are madly in love. I guess she hasn't read that it's Hilaria Thomas that he's newly engaged to.

It appears Ms. Sabourin is getting a taste of her own medicine.  In an interview with Le Journal de Montreal (via The New York Post) — Sabourin likened her own media-coverage to Princess Diana.

"I'm on the run, I'm scared . . . I pay for everything in cash so I don't leave a trace. Imagine if the press finds me while I'm on the move. I don't want to turn into Lady Diana..."

But Genevieve's not the only one getting a bit of unwanted attention. Reporters have shown up at the Quebec home of her mother and the actress has taken to Twitter to complain about media coverage.

"I feel sorry for my 67 years-old mother, so stress with all this unwanted press, home phone constantly ringing +her photo taken by paparazzi!" she tweeted.

Her Twitter description claims says "Alec Baldwin, no comment about him or the case Simply but truly introducing myself: Genevieve Sabourin actress and my little puppy Charlie," yet she makes it a point to reTweet just about every headline featuring her name or Baldwin.

In the words of the late, great William Shakespeare, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
